To advance knowledge and skills in glaucoma care among practitioners in the Middle East and Africa, MEAGS provides budding ophthalmologists and other allied eye care professionals with opportunities for professional development through mentorship, fellowships, online learning, taught courses, and educational resources.
The MEAGS Glaucoma Fellowship Program is specifically designed to support young ophthalmologists interested in pursuing a career in the glaucoma subspecialty by connecting them with mentors at established centers of excellence in glaucoma care.
The society also provides opportunities for networking and collaboration among individuals and organizations across the region and beyond. In collaboration with regional and international societies, MEAGS has organized a number of glaucoma symposia for general ophthalmologists and glaucoma specialists, with the aim of improving glaucoma care and reducing glaucoma-related blindness across the region and beyond.
MEAGS also offers a range of educational resources, including papers, Videos of the Month, multiple-choice questions, and picture quizzes to help eye care professionals stay up to date with the latest developments in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment.
